Hidden History is a short film that offers viewers a fictional history to the domed prison in Breda.
Originally designed to be a physical installation, a motorized mechanical theater, at an exposition in this prison building, it later turned into an animation/film.

Hidden History started as a project for St Joost, the tale came to be when tasked with doing a storytelling project about the prison. After visiting the prison I asked myself "what interests me about this, that I would enjoy telling a story about?" It wasn't the actual history, nor the theme of prisons in general, the one thing that stuck with me was the architecture. Specifically, the castle-like elements of the building, like the gatehouse with crenellations.
I researched why it looked like that, delving into potential storylines, but was left empty handed. It was then that inspiration struck, "Why not spin my own tale for this place?"

The result is Hidden History.
The film is a combination of filmed footage with practical effects & video editing / animation, with narration by Shen Vallipuram.
