Schijnmacht

Schijnmacht ("illusion of power") is a one-minute animation based on Großer Respekt, a work by Thomas Schütte. The work explores the theme of Großer Respekt: The illusion of power held by "great leaders". Grand gestures and loud shouting, while no one spares them a second thought. Visually my work explores the material processes behind Schütte's own work: The wax figures that my process was centered around are inspired by steps the metal casting process in Schütte's own work. Schijnmacht was selected to be one of 30 one-minute animations shown at museum De Pont in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
